We have been all over the globe,not once or twice but hundred's of time, and have yet to find a place like India International Centre, New Delhi.
I.I.C. is unique for its architecture, for its liabrary,for its daily cultural programmes, seminars, open air plazas, art gallery exhibitions... all free not only for members & guests but for the general public too.
The hostel accomodation,dineing hall-cafetaria lounge for members is of excellent quality. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. The garden all around is well kept.
We have family and friends in Delhi with bunglows in Safderjung Enclave & Sunder Nagar where we are welcome. But unless we have a 2-3 week confirmes booking at I.I.C.,we do not come to Delhi. The friendly service with art & culture, lectures, cinema, and unexpected meeting of old friends at the bar, all at one place give us tremendous pleasure. It's like home to us.
The only negative point is the snoring of some of our fellow senior members in the library... but what can one do...
